Bronwyn Linton

Senior Occupational Therapist

Meet Bronwyn …

What is your background?

I graduated as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Queensland in 1994 and became a Driver Trained OT in 2001. My passion for working with people with disabilities began in my teens, volunteering with children in residential care.

I have 30 years of clinical experience, primarily working with adults with complex needs. I started in hospital-based neurological rehab but soon transitioned to community health, where I’ve spent most of my career.

I established two therapy services:

  • The Occupational Therapy Adult Service in Community Health (1997)
  • The Ipswich Community Health Driving Assessment Service (2001)

I also served on OT Australia’s Queensland and National Boards and received the Louise VanWilligen Memorial Scholarship in 2009.

I now specialise in rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and complex multi-trauma cases

What kind of clients have you worked with?

I’ve worked with adults living with conditions such as spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and motor neurone disease. I’ve also supported clients in palliative care settings.

What is your approach to therapy?

I believe in standing in the shoes of the person I’m supporting—understanding their world, their goals, and what matters most to them.

My experience as a family carer has also shaped my commitment to holistic, carer-inclusive therapy.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I love spending time in nature, working on embroidery and textile art, and relaxing with my three dogs.
