Meet Natalie

Can you tell us a bit about your background?

I am an Occupational Therapist with over 10 years’ experience in both clinical and managerial roles. I have worked in many different fields; including, inpatient rehabilitation, community OT for physical and psychosocial disabilities, community aged care, and specialised in community assistive technology prescription. 

What kind of clients have you worked with?

I have worked with a range of clients. Early in my career, my focus was working with clients with neuromuscular diseases, brain injuries, strokes and degenerative diseases. Further on, I have worked with many participants under the NDIS and specialised in the areas of AT prescription, home modifications, manual handling training and ADL re-training. 

Where have you worked, and how has that shaped your approach?

Early on, I had the pleasure of working in a private rehabilitation hospital as an Occupational Therapist. Following this, I moved on to working for a leading community equipment supplier where I worked as an Occupational Therapist and Sydney Team Leader for our clinical team. I have also worked as a community OT under the NDIS and Aged Care Packages. 

What’s your clinical focus?

I have always found that I prefer a balance of a wide-range of clinical exposure; however, I do enjoy the areas of assistive technology prescription, manual handling, and home modifications. I have enjoyed working with adults with physical disabilities and assisting them to reach their goals!

What qualities help you make a difference?

I am very driven and passionate about being an Occupational Therapist, and will always look at a person’s situation holistically. I work very closely with clients and their family/friends to ensure their quality of life is always a priority! 

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my family, especially outdoors. I am also in the process of writing a children’s book which I hope to publish one day!
