Sharon Hertel

BA Sc (Occupational Therapy)
Studying Occupational Therapy at Curtin University in Perth, Sharon graduated in 1994 having completed an honours research dissertation with a focus area on quadriplegia and hand function.
Sharon commenced working as an occupational therapist initially in the community paediatric field, before embarking on a working holiday adventure as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist in the United States. Sharon was introduced to the field of Acquired Brain Injury during her second working holiday, in the United Kingdom, at the Manchester Children’s Hospital from 1999-2000.
Back in Perth, Sharon moved toward working in the adult rehabilitation sector, with a focus on acquired brain injury, home visiting and equipment, wheelchair and seating prescription and rehabilitation following lower limb amputation, and later as a Case Manager at the State Head Injury Unit.
Following a break to raise her family in 2008, Sharon joined the Lighthouse Health Group team in 2015, working as an occupational therapist and Case Manager/Specialist Support Coordinator, for the private compensable and NDIS sector.
