Femke Ike-Achterkamp

Practice Manager

Meet Femke …

Tell us a bit about your background and experience?

My background mostly spans HR advisory, administration, and workforce support, with a strong focus on employee wellbeing and sustainable employability. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, along with certifications in lifestyle and stress & burnout coaching.

I’m passionate about creating positive, people-focused work environments where both individuals and organisations can thrive. I also love new experiences and discovering different cultures — one of the reasons I fulfilled a long-held dream and relocated from the Netherlands to Sydney in October 2023 with my family.

What attracted you to join LHG and what excites you about your role here?

I’ve always been passionate about improving well-being, which aligns with the LHG values of respect, support, and helping individuals reach their full potential. Starting as an interim Administration Manager and transitioning into the Practice Manager role for LHG NSW has allowed me to apply my organisational skills to support the team and ensure we deliver high-quality services.

What are some of your key responsibilities?

As a Practice Manager, I oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring everything runs efficiently. This includes managing client relationships, coordinating projects, and supporting the team. I also handle office operations, financial management, and compliance to ensure smooth and high-quality service delivery.

What do you find most rewarding about your role?

The most rewarding aspect of my role is making sure the operational side is seamless, allowing the team to focus on providing exceptional care. It’s fulfilling to know that the work our team does behind the scenes helps create a smooth, positive environment for both staff and clients. I’m contributing to a practice that makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors—whether it’s bushwalking, a day at the beach, or walking my dog. I also do CrossFit four times a week and love spending quality time with my family and friends.
