Specialist Support Coordination
What is Specialist Support Coordination?
Some participants will have Specialist Support Coordination funds allocated in their NDIS plan. The Specialist Support Coordination role is very similar to the role that used to be called ‘Case Management’ in many health and justice services.
Unlike a Support Coordinator, a Specialist Support Coordinator must hold an allied health or tertiary degree and is usually allocated to support you to manage more complex challenges in your support environment.
Examples of more complex challenges may include multiple health diagnoses, a significant change in health status, education requirements or involvement with justice services. Specialist Support Coordination aims to reduce barriers to you implementing or using your NDIS plan.
Lighthouse Health Group staff have been providing Specialist Support Coordination to participants within numerous government schemes and to private clients for over 20 years.
