Lisa Platel

BA (English), GDipEd (Secondary)
Lisa completed her tertiary studies at Edith Cowan University obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in English) and a Graduate Diploma of Education. During this time, Lisa supported herself working with Allied Health practitioners providing invaluable support in building their businesses and running the day to day operations of their practices.
Following her studies, Lisa began her teaching career in 2005 as an English and Social Sciences teacher at Safety Bay Senior High School. Here Lisa was a passionate teacher who worked to inspire, educate and challenge her students and improve their learning experience.
In 2011 Lisa took a step back from teaching embarking on a new pathway that combined the finance skills she developed in earlier roles with her love for travel. Starting as an Assistant Accountant with Travellers Choice, it wasn’t long before she moved into the role of Administration and Finance and Supervisor.
It was while working at Travellers Choice that Lisa added other new experiences to her journey, becoming a wife and mother. Departing Travellers Choice in late 2015, Lisa enjoyed some time at home with her 2 children and welcomed a third in 2017.
In November of 2018 Lisa joined Lighthouse Health Group as a Practice Manager and is an integral part of our amazing team in WA. New to the Disability sector, Lisa brought with her a passion to help people and a wealth of experience in customer service, administrative processes, governance and finance management. Lisa is a great support to both our team and clients in WA and works closely with our NSW office.
Lisa is most proud her beautiful family and spends most of her time outside of work enjoying their company and socialising with friends. She is a big fan of the beach and travel and as an English major she, of course, loves to relax with a good book. Lisa has been lucky enough to spend time exploring Europe, Asia, South America and in more recent years has ventured much closer to home, exploring parts of this beautiful country, especially WA.
